Choosing the Right Pump for Your Water Source
One of the most common questions we get at RUTANPUMP is whether a customer should choose a submersible or a surface solar pump. The answer depends entirely on your specific water source and application requirements.
When to Choose a Submersible Solar Pump
Submersible pumps are designed to be placed underwater, typically in deep wells or boreholes. They are ideal for lifting water from significant depths. If your water table is more than 7-10 meters deep, a submersible pump is your only viable option. They are highly efficient and remain cool while operating underwater.
When to Choose a Surface Solar Pump
Surface pumps, as the name suggests, are installed above ground. They are best suited for drawing water from shallow sources like ponds, rivers, or storage tanks. They are generally easier to maintain and install but have limited suction lift capacity. For transfer applications or shallow irrigation, a surface pump is often the more cost-effective choice.
