Corrosive Water Challenges

Pumping seawater, brackish water, and chemically aggressive sources requires pumps with superior corrosion resistance. Standard materials fail quickly in these environments, causing premature pump failure and contamination. Corrosion resistant solar pumps solve these challenges.

Elastomer selection is equally important. Viton and EPDM seals resist chemical attack better than standard nitrile. Ceramic or tungsten carbide mechanical seal faces withstand abrasive particles. Proper material pairing prevents galvanic corrosion between dissimilar metals.

Marine and Coastal Applications

Coastal aquaculture, desalination pretreatment, and island water supply require seawater pumps. These applications demand full corrosion protection including pump body, shaft, fasteners, and electrical connections. Sacrificial anodes provide additional protection.

Regular inspection and maintenance extend pump life in corrosive service. Fresh water flushing after use removes salt deposits. Protective coatings on non-wetted surfaces prevent atmospheric corrosion. Spare parts inventory enables prompt repair.
